Nice show this weekend, although things sorta fell apart when you got the FansProject Diaclone Severo, but don’t worry, I’m here to swoop in with corrections! (Swoop, as in the Dinobot, Swoop get it? never mind!)
1. FansProject toys are NOT based on Fall of Cybertron designs. The company making Fall of Cybertron designs is Planet X. FansProject design are original takes on the Dinobots. I know, Transformers fans are often confused and flustered at anything original in 3P, but it’s true.
2. The Diaclone version has more than just blue pants All the Diaclone versions of the toys come in a metallic finish paint, chromed pieces and have partner Diaclone drivers.
3. It’s not Lost Eco Realm, it’s Lost EXO Realm.
4. FansProject Diaclone toys are not TFcon exclusives, they are just “convention exclusives” they may appear at ANY convention FansProject attends. You can usually find one of their Dinobots 2 or 3 conventions all over the world before it sells out.
5. Obviously any convention exclusive can be resold later by someone else. That doesn’t mean it’s not “exclusive”. I bought a BotCon exclusive on ebay, does that make it not an exclusive? TFSourse usually buys large quantities of convention exclusives and resells them on their web site.
6. In the case of TFcon there are no more exclusives sponsored by the convention, have not been for several years. In the early days TFcon would commission companies to make a limited run of a recolor or remold and TFcon would sell it at the convention at a markup. Now they don’t bother, and the various companies just make the limited run toys themselves and sell them at the tables. When you buy this Severo at TFcon USA, it will be sold by the FansProject table. TFcon staff are not selling them like they used to, and are not involved in designing or financing them like they did with their old exclusives.
Hello gents!
Great show, and Happy Thanksgiving to Darryl. Lots of goodness on this episode, though when toys are spotted in Canada, a little localization would be appreciated.. we are the second largest country in the world after all.
I did take your survey, and feel free to use any of my comments on air; I believe everyone has a right to my opinion.
As info, way back in episode 185 when I asked about the comics collections to get to create my library, Yoshi was right and I did ask to start with the Marvel Classics, sorry Charles. I have started acquiring the Classics and I’ve shared that with my kids, never to early to indoctrinate with the goodness that is G1.
In closing, looking forward to more fun episodes, the outtakes are so very funny and a great piece of the show.
