  1. Maketoys calling both their Megatrons by the Despotron name seems to be confusing a lot of people. They are doing the same with their 2 different Starscream toys, that are both called Meteor. This sort of thing has happened before, with DX9 making both a Legends and MP Galvatron called Tyrant, and Toyworld announcing a second Optimus Prime called Orion.

When iGear first announced it’s Raptor Squadron seekers, the first teasers used the same names for the jets as their KO MP Seeker figures, but then they changed the names to new names before it was released. So it almost happened back then.

Personally I don’t like the Rioter Despotron’s alt mode either. I wonder if you could make something more like WFC Megatron’s hovertank or TFPrime Megatron’s space jet alt mode using that toy.

  2. Another great show, 5 stars! That’s how it works, right?

I would like to add that the Maketoys Cross Dimensions line is somewhere between Deluxe and Voyager scale. Along with the main goal of super poseable figures they are writing their own fiction to go along with the toys. I am interested to see where they are going to take this line. I enjoy the fact that they are not MPalike scale unlike 99% of Third Party toys out there.

To add my two cents further into the Despotron vs Mightron. I have seen the reviews for Mightron, I handled Despotron at TFCon and my money is on Despotron. This is one of those figures that photos do not do it justice. No back kibble and no hollow underarms, the latter being very important when posing the fusion cannon.

It was also great to hear you guys on Cybertronological for a surprise (or at least to me) Scramble City episode. It had been a few years since I’ve seen it so it was great to revisit this one off episode. I hope to hear the guys from Cybertronological on Transmissions soon.

My views on the Machinima series are going to sound the same way you all talk about the live action movies. 3 episodes in now and it is bad. Yes I will watch till the end but it’s going to be rough. I could go on a huge rant but unlike the live action movies to which I enjoy, the butter on my popcorn is turning cold and nothing that is less than 5 minutes can leave a lasting impression. I look forward to your final verdict when all is said and done, but I feel it will be easier to defend Revenge of the Fallen than Machinima’s Combiner Wars. Primus, I hope I’m wrong, if not (wait 6 seconds) sound the alarm.

Oh and one last thing on Hot Rod’s design for TF5. The movieverse has already established that only a Prime can have flames!

    Cheers

  3. Maketoys Despotron is not shorter than MP10. There are several pics from TFcon Toronto and a video (Action Robo) showing they are the same height. The pelvic thrust poses he was in contributed to him looking shorter. I actually sold my Apollyon when Despotron was announced. With all these 3P MP Megatrons coming and Hasui stating that Takara would like to do Megatron (and Galvatron), I would expect an official Megatron to be announced in the not too distant future. One of my contacts claimant is coming

Also, thanks again for giving a big mention about The Audio Knights Theatre! We’re very proud of the movie and of everyone who contributed to it. While progress on mtmte 6 has been slow, we’ve recently made quite a bit of progress on it. It’s great hearing how excited everyone is to hear it.

    You guys are the best!
