No comments about how terrible I was yet! Winning!
I really enjoyed this episode. I think you four did a bang up job.
Dude, you did great! This was a fun show to listen to but I bet Mike wants and needs to move again so the Transmissions crew can’t find him.
Oh and this is to Mike. Great job stepping in for a vacant Yoshi with your take on the intros. I enjoy it when you have the same look and feel of the Transmissions Podcast that I enjoy but when there is something new to listen to it is like an auditory Easter Egg.
I’m not sure why you guys think Hasbro can’t release a sci-fi gun mode Megatron in the USA. This is the same company that makes Nerf guns!
It has been a while since I’ve done my research on it, but it is not necessarily the manufacture or colour of the toy gun but it is mainly the profile of the toy. A Nerf gun from a distance has a distinct look where the Nerfatron can resemble a hand gun due to it’s overall size.
Which now begs to differ, where is my Titan Class Megatron! 🙂
I believe the problem with them releasing “Classic Megatron” was indeed the color. When it was made it followed the standards, but then shortly later, as the Hasbro exec said, they changed the color standards. So they had to RECOLOR IT for this release (which is why it has more red probably), which is what they did. It had nothing to do with the shape of a gun. You can get gun shaped cap guns in the dollar store, but they have to have bright red permanently affixed barrels.
I checked the online Trademark sites, and the trademark for a Gort toy is currently held by 20th Century Fox for the toys associated with The Day The Earth Stood Still. That’s why we now have Xort.

I don’t know why anyone would bother to ask about, or believe the answer when they ask if the Titan Master class characters will get larger full sized characters later. What do you expect the Hasbro rep to say?
Hasbro rep: “Yes, we will be making full sized figures of all those Titan Masters, so make sure not to buy any Titan Masters, because a better toy is coming later! Also, those larger figures were going to be revealed at the CybertronCon Hasbro Panel 2017, but I guess we’ll just cancel that panel, because I’m telling you our releases now… because you asked.”
Small correction – the first item in the TFSS is Pretender Optimus Prime, not PRIMAL. It said the name in the club magazine. I know your TFw2005 link has the wrong name. Here is the right one. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/attachments/transformers-news-rumors/27568039d1454980575-tfss-5-0-pretender-optimus-prime-paradron-medic-revealed-tfss5__scaled_600.jpg
Great episode guys (don’t worry Big C and Yoshi, you were still missed)!
Just wanted to say that despite not growing up having watched the 1986 movie, my gut reaction to the “Autobot heroes” box set was still, “WANT”… with one exception.
It’s a shame the despite Arcee, Kup, Magnus, and Springer being all prior original molds with repaints, Blurr’s is a remold of Drift. If Blurr could have been an original too, like that upcoming Titans Return version, I think it would have made the set even MORE desirable.
Then again, if it is in the $150 price range like Darryl and Jeremy think it’ll be, then might be too good to pass up.
More corrections – I believe the Targetmaster with Pretender Megatron is not actually based on club Astrotrain, but the unreleased Universe Spacewarp, the canceled toy that lead to the release of Timelines Astrotrain (slightly different deco and head). Spacewarp is a separate character in the club fiction, and actually a female Decepticon who has appeared in lots of their exclusive fiction. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Spacewarp
Also, you guys stated that Quickslinger and Ginrai are based on the Payload mold (partner to Cosmos), but they are based on the Eclipse mold (partner to Gears).
Not sure if you guys will be going over the BotCon comic in a future show, but I noticed that Scorpnok from the Scamper mold appeared in the comic. He’s the member of Megatron’s Attack Squad who says “Now we mess up the snake’s arms and legs!” If you review the comic let me know, it’s one of the few I’ve read lately.
On that Autobot Heroes Platinum set they missed out on a MAJOR chance. Instead of having the little robot with Ultra Magnus be Minimus Ambus, they could have repainted it, changed the head, and called it Daniel Witwicky! http://tfwiki.net/mediawiki/images2/thumb/d/d3/TFTM_Daniel_in_exosuit.jpg/300px-TFTM_Daniel_in_exosuit.jpg
That Alpha Trion figure looks outstanding! He, Soundwave and skull cruncher are so far my favorites of this line!I really want to see this being retooled as Leo breaker from the Transformers Cybertron anime series and Lio Convoy from the Beast Wars the second anime series. And maybe even nemesis versions as well. It’s a little bit of wishful thinking but that mold would the perfect opportunity for those characters!
Hey, gents! It’s been awhile since I commented, but I really needed to stop and and say two things:
1) WHAT THE F– …Kidding. First I wanted to thank Darryl for this week’s KO Korner! I was never able to locate a Masterpiece Starscream because Toys R Us is concentrated evil and shouldn’t be allowed near children.
2) I don’t know if I missed this explanation, but why has the TFTM theme Lion cover been replaced with 80’s cartoon intros? I FREAKING LOVE IT!! Whoever has been choosing them should DJ every intro. They’ve all been winners so far. I won’t even suggest any for the future as I don’t want to jinx it. Just keep em coming!
This isn’t the first time I’ve heard this. Perhaps it’s time for me to step down from doing the intro themes and give the task over to younger blood.
Hmm…I certainly wouldn’t want you to have your intros job swiped right from under you. In fact, the first time I heard it, I expected the normal intro to follow. There’s room for both. It would only add like an additional 15 seconds or so, after all.
