Great show guys as always
Here’s my little rant for this year’s botcon set
I feel extremely disappointed with the botcon set this year. I feel like they should have gone with repainting and retooling the original transmetals Terrosaur or maybe repaint Brimstone from Transformers Cybertron or hell, repaint the seekers from the fall of Cybertron but I’m sick of these combiner wars repaints for beast wars characters. Shit i would be happy if they went with the shitty movie swoop (strafe). They had so many opportunities for some amazing exclusives but they used those shitty combiner wars figures. Swing and a disastrous miss!
As for the MP Primal, I am so hyper for this! Primal was my G1 Prime and as soon as I see it up for preorder I am placing an order for it. Now, when will we see an MP beast wars Megatron?
Agreed about the MP Primal! Went up for pre order today and I already ordered it. I’m hoping for an MP Beast wars Megatron, that would be badass!
I believe the club has already stated that Hasbro is forcing them to make exclusives mostly from the molds that are currently being manufactured, instead of using past molds. So the club had no choice but to use Combiner Wars for most of their toys being Combiner Wars repaints. The question you should be asking is what other character they should have made from the CW Deluxe Air Raid mold, since they HAD to use that mold or a similar one. You should not be asking what other mold would have made a good Terrorsaur, since that was not an option.
Nice episode this week. I would like to make a point on your KO Korner selection. That listing on Taobao is a simple preorder place holder put on there by some anonymous party. We really have no clue IF and WHEN there will be an actual KO of the Maketoys Grapple and Inferno. 20 Chinese Yuan is about $3 US. The listing is asking people to send the seller $3, and in exchange he will “reserve” a KO for the person if and when one is ever made. If no KO i ever made, he just keeps the $3. It could just as easily be a scam, I mean I could go start a Taobao listing saying I was going to be making an oversized Maketoys Pandinus, please send me $3 and I’ll reserve one for you.
Perhaps in the future you should pick a KO for the KO Korner of something we know exists instead of sending listeners to a possible scam?
Hi guys, I see y’all have summoned me in this episode. 😉 Before I continue, I just wanted to welcome Mike back to the crew.
So I’m here to report my findings. The listing that was referenced in your show notes from DaimChoc Report is here:
https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.16.Yxoowq&id=528326437876&ns=1&abbucket=12#detail
My research shows that the store offering this preorder has been on TaoBao for 7 years and has a 5-diamond rating (which I believe is highest you can get). The seller’s store also have other legitimate 3P and official item for sale. So, if I was living in China, I would probably consider this as a reliable store. Either DaimChoc didn’t want to post the listing or was not able to find it, but I’m not sure why he did not include the link in his original Facebook post.
On to the item itself, the listing says the KO piece is due out approximately on July 16, Figure will stand 22cm (almost 9inches) tall, and it will have diecast parts. Final price on the figure will be 390 Chinese Yuan (or you can use the term “RMB” in the future to avoid confusion with the Japanese Yen), which is about 60 USD or 79 CAD.
If you really want to get the KO instead, my final advise is to wait for listing on TF-Direct, or SirToys, both of which lists their item in English and deals with western customers. It is possible to purchase from TaoBao or international shipping, but it is tricky. Just ask Diecast from RFC haha.
Anyways, I just want to share quickly about my MP Hot Rod. Yes I do have a scratch on one of the chrome parts. While it is very small spot on mine, I have seen varying degree of damage on different people’s figure. I’ll be researching on how to apply a layer of clear floor polish to protect these parts. So if any listeners out there already know of a tutorial, please share with everyone. It will be your way of avenging my damaged chrome, haha.
Whew, that was a long post, but you guys asked for it ;P Thank you for always producing a great show, and I look forward to your super secret project. (What ever it is, can I offer 20 Chinese Yuan to reserve one? hehe)
Another great show guys!!! I only have a couple things I want to point out about this time…
1) Botcon – Terrorsaur I don’t see anything really wrong with the use of the figure or anything. I think it will work with the Tripediceaus set. Mostly because he is a red figure. All they need now is to bring out one more red colored figure to get a completely red combiner. Maybe use Inferno in say Swindle mold?? Considering it would only be like the 3rd use of the mold. Unless I am mistaken.
2) I also want to point something out to Darryl. Have you checked out Transformerland lately? And if so have you checked out the Vintage Transforming Robots section of their store? In there they have quite a few KO figures. Namely a RID ( 2000) version of the Build Team, a oversized Uranos , yellow Hercules , and a KO of the Throttlebot combiner set. What you think of these?
Keep us the great work guys and remember you are always invited to the Transceivers Chat at the end of each month that I host on my channel.
