On this episode of TransMissions Extra! we talk about our love/hate/tolerate relationship with the Apple Corporation, its Mac computers, and many iDevices. Oh, and our good friend IDW Transformers comics colorist and writer John-Paul Bove stops by to offer his two pence (worth at least a dollar with the UK/US exchange rate)! What relationship do you have with Apple products? Are you a proud member of the church of Apple, or do you think Apple is The Devil Incarnate? There are no other options. Let us know in the comments!
What is TransMissions: Extra!?
We usually spend the first 30 minutes of our TransMissions Skype call talking about other random topics before we record the main show. TransMissions Extra! is a more organized discussion of these topics recorded into a short podcast of its own. We hope you enjoy TransMissions Extra!

Interesting show. I myself am a PC and Android user, although I have an iPod that I use mostly as a camera because the camera on my phone is broken. I originally bought it because using my phone as an MP3 player was too much of a battery drain.
In regards to the suicides in “Apple” factories, it should be noted that actual production of Apple products is mostly outsourced to the Chinese company Foxconn who own the factory complex in Shenzhen.
Apple’s actual response was typically poor, but direct responsibility for the workers falls on Foxconn.
Apple (and other companies like HP) could have and should have made more noise about this.
Of course I’m just going off my vague recollections and a glance at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxconn_suicides .
Been along time since I left feedback….mainly because I’ve been several episode behind.
First, Fuck iTunes….what a colossal pile of steaming horse shit! It was the main reason that slowed me from converting to apple years ago. I was a Blackberry user for several years and after having to hack Chinese operating systems to keep my even worse device working i smash that fucker and never looked back. I’ve used new blackberries and they’re rubbish. Just junk. No idea how Darryl tolerates it…suppose he doesn’t know better.
Now I do agree with Darryl on the stupid cult apple aspect but fuck man the device just works. That’s all I really want to be honest. I upgraded to the iPhone six and I’m happy with it. The wife went Samsung 6 and while it’s nice it’s been plagued with issues. When the contract is up I will once again re evaluate the products available.
The topic is very polarizing that’s for sure. I’d say the fight between tech brands is as hardcore as the fight between car manufactures…if not worse because sadly tech guys think they’re cool being clever when they drive a Geo metro but have the last apple whatever device…..more dudes been laid with a cool car then the latest bullshit over priced device….just saying.
anyways that’s enough rambling ranting nonsense, really enjoy these extra episodes.
No one is watching this thread anymore. But just because I can…
