On this episode of TransMissions Extra!, we explore the endless possibilities of time travel. It’s a fun concept in fiction, but will it ever be real? We also discuss when we’d like to go if we had a time machine of our own. What do you think of time travel? Let us know in the comments!
What is TransMissions: Extra!?
We usually spend the first 30 minutes of our TransMissions Skype call talking about other random topics before we record the main show. TransMissions Extra! is a more organized discussion of these topics recorded into a short podcast of its own. We hope you enjoy TransMissions Extra!

Well ,here we are again..let me put down a few items:
First I’m suprised you guys did not put down rl steins “the time raider” choose your own adventure, that was my first book of that type, (I bought that in the 5 th grade i belive ,and still own it), but of course the are a few others as well,2-3 episodes of star trek the orginal series +the movie, back to the future of course…and there is a special place for the orginal time machine movie in which I own (and recently watched, great movie ) and the recent remake, and a special thanks goes to matt ignash for re finding the audiosee audio drama the time machine recently (had that on tape in the 3rd grade back then),BUT other than those, for me Dr who is where it’s been since I was six years old,and I will not deny, for the most part the time travel back and forth has been in the early stages of the show, more or less with the first two incarnations of the dr,but of course I started with the fourth dr and went from there, never looking back, maybe from time to time watching from behind the coutch, but for me that defines travel, perhaps it does break a few rules seeings how the TARDIS is not just a time machine but space as well,AND it’s been know to travel in alternative time lines (yes, another clue there gentlemen on the DMG handel), but still, other than the orginal H g Wells movie, the dr is it for me.
Now I can’t recall right now where I did hear /seen this but I remember a show stating right now we can send back into time certain particles of energy/matter back through time by some means but we cannot move them back forward,we would have to wait for another race to aid using that they said,I’ve always wondered WilI man be able to travel the time the way we traveling a car or a plane?
Time will tell, it always does..
If I could go back in time I would want to see dinosaurs when they roamed the Earth. Probably during the Cretaceous period.
That would be killer. If I could do that I for sure would want to take a camera with me so i can bring back evidence.
If I could time travel , I would be “that guy”. Namely the scientist type. I would love to go back and check out historical events. JFK assassination, bombing of Pearl Harbor, joining of the railroads, stuff like that. I would also be checking out things like Jake the Ripper and finding out who he is . Also be trying to help in solving some unsolved mysteries. Such as Flight 19 from the Bermuda Triangle. Stuff that can lead to closing cases like that.
Though I wouldn’t be doing it to change anything. Just finding out what happened. I don’t want to change history, just help us learn from it better.
