I really enjoyed this episode. Flint Dille is always a good interview having the perfect balance of humility and candor. When he started talking about the battle between Marvel and Sunbow, I was riveted! Then you guys brought the conversation back to Transformers. :/
Still…great interview, guys. With that one small exception, you really brought your ‘A’ game.
Yep gonna go with the blade man on this one,it was pretty good..
HOWEVER,if I would have know they would have had the interview (or if my blockhead self would had thought it over in advance)I would have asked them on on my behalf on his thoughts/ideas,and yes origins on the Quints..
Yeah I’m that kinda guy whom beats these dead horses,
though the secret of cybertron(I’ve read about it before),reminds me a little of the cybertron series from the unicron trilogy, but damn if my ears did not perk up a little when he said ANYTHING about the quints!
I guess I’ll have to wait a little longer….
I never knew about the whole Secret of Cybertron thing. But it’s similar to an idea I wrote about on the original movie forum around 2005. We were spitballing and listing things that would have improved the G1 cartoon. (Incidentally, most of my ideas ended up in future series. Robot carnage, expansive story arcs, rules on the power of flight, etc.)
But yeah…my favorite idea was for the Matrix to trigger an irresistible call to all Cybertronians to return to Cybertron. They’d all arrive to see their world being ravaged by Unicron. They’d then enter these power-siphoning compartments which would provide the planet with enough juice to transform into a Unicron-killing robot. Thus, making the motto “Til all are one” quite literal.
By this point, I don’t think the Cybertron cartoon had even begun airing.
I was never a fan of the Quints, but my position on them has softened over the years. They’re so damn cuddly!
