  1. I think it was last episode, you mention the Transformers vs GI Joe comic bit said you wouldn’t be reviewing it. I’ve only listened to a handful of episodes (maybe a month or two), I probably missed the back story, but why is this? Just curious. Thanks and love the podcast, gives me something to listen to while driving around for work!!!

    • Hi Joe, the backstory is that while Charles and I both like the series, Darryl and Yoshi don’t. It’s such a crazy book that the reviews tended to be pretty similar in the complaints, so we just decided it would be better to skip reviewing that book. Maybe we’ll go back and review a number of issues together sometime though.

      • Thanks Jeremy, That makes sense now. I saw a recent cover (I believe it is the Joe HQ transformed into Metroplex) and thought, “I wonder what they’ll say about it on the podcast”, then heard what you guys said and was a bit bummed. No biggie.

  2. Cool episode again, guys. Even though I was also expecting it, I was still happy to hear that there’s gonna be a G2 coloured Bruticus. I’d really like to get that one. So thank you Deep Throating!

  3. Awesome to hear a Hardcore History plug in Transmissions!

  4. Another Great Show Guys!!! I am really hoping to win the contest though I will admit my hopes are kinda low. I am betting you guys got a ton on entries that are better than mine. But who knows. But I do have some good news I am actually catching up a little bit on the comics. As you have more than likely recently saw on twitter I have managed to pick up a few. I also have finally got some new boxes to store my vast collection in ordered. Once I get them and maybe some more books in the mail and get them reset I should have a better count on my collection which should if not be super close to passing the 1000 TF comic mark. I have been curios as to if there is a world record or a listing somewhere as to who has the largest TF comic collection. Any suggestions you guys have as to where to look? I have checked on TFW2005 and Seibertron.com with no luck. I have also looked the the Guinness World of Records and nothing there either. The only record I see there is about the Bay movies dominate the Box Offices. I have considered petitioning for the record. I bet if I did and got awarded the record that would get me a guest spot on the show. *wink* If you guys have any advice on this please let me know.

    • I’m glad to hear that you’re getting organized again, an unorganized Comic Collection is one of those things that eats away at my brain and makes my OCD rage!

As far as the Guinness Book of World Records idea, it’s worth asking. But when you think about it 1000 TF books is a very achievable goal if someone put there mind to it. Also, you have to take into consideration that retail locations will have more then 1000 TF books on hand at any given moment. Mine here in London does for sure. I don’t want to discourage you, but I myself am not even trying to have the most, and I have probably over 600 TF books. My understanding of how Guinness operates is they would want the number to be astronomical, something that would seem like couldn’t be humanly possible. My guess is that if you don’t have more then 10,000 TF books they won’t consider it.

As an addendum to that last statement, most “Brand” related collection records that I’ve seen would have to include all things from that brand. So for example Transformers, you would have to submit a record for having the biggest Transformers Collection in the world, which even with your 1000 TF books you don’t… I don’t… and am unsure of who does.

If you wanted to stick to Comic Books then you would have to submit a record for having the Biggest Collection of Comic Books in the World, which you don’t… I don’t … most stores have more then the average person but I’m sure there’s one person out there that is literally buried alive in comics.

My advice to you is to simply enjoy your books and collect for yourself. If you want a copy of every TF comic and alternate cover printed fine, but realize that you aren’t the only one doing it. There is a person that buys from my store (dogcades knows him) and he’s a cover addict too! What’s the plan for when you finish? Also, I’ve said it before TF books aren’t worth much, and like any collection it has value. What would you value your collection at? Cause most stores would give you half Overstreet (Price Guide) for your books, which if you had 1000 it should value at $4000, but you’d be offered $2000 give or take. That’s if the store wanted to take them off your hands. Now, I know… “It’s your collection, and your not planning to sell it”, but it’s always a good idea what the value of your collection is. Insurance purposes, desperate times, etc… it pains me to say it, but TF books just aren’t a great investment.

Okay, I’ve probably gone on long enough. If you take anything away from what I’ve written here, please just enjoy your collection, and don’t buy things to please anyone else.

      Take care Dinobot

        • Thanks for the reply Beast! And I can understand with the OCD thing. The way my comics have been having to sit has been driving me crazy. It takes up so much space right (granted it was still a lot in the comic boxes, but it was a lot neater), that it bothers me. The boxes should be here real soon (ordered them off Evilbay).
As for my collection , I know it not for the money done the road. Though I know if my wife and kids wanted to sell them when I am gone they could get a decent price for the whole collection. ( HOPEFULLY,) I come back as a ghost and haunt them if they sold it all for like $100.
But all in all I love just collecting them and reading them. I love the art and the story. I just figured when I decided to start collecting them if I am going to get them might as well all they have to offer.
Thanks for the input on the Guinness Record thing. I have looked on there site and figured my collection needed to be bigger to get acknowledged on it. But thought I thought I would ask and see what you guys thought about it. Though I will admit with all the other covers out there I still need to get I am sure my collection will rise to a more massive level. Of course getting it that high might mean losing my wife and kids. And that will definately not happen !!!
