Welcome to a new show featuring your favorite TransMissions hosts! We love talking Transformers, but we’re also into other stuff too. In fact, we usually spend the first 30 minutes of our TransMissions Skype call talking about other random topics before we record the main show. So we thought, why not record that as an experiment for another show? And thus, TransMissions Extra! was born! This will be a much shorter show than our regular podcast, as we’ll just pick a single topic to have a short discussion. On this inaugural episode, Darryl brings us the latest trailer for the new Deadpool movie, and we give you our thoughts. Let us know what you think about this show, and feel free to propose topics we can talk about in the future. We hope you enjoy this first episode of TransMissions Extra!

I am going to do a Tim Taylor impression “ohhaaa?” The Transmissions Podcast doing something not Transformers related??? WTF????
No seriously guys Awesome!!!! Nothing wrong with branching out some. I will admit I am happy you doing it separately. As we have told you guys before nothing wrong with going off transformers in a transformers podcast if only briefly on topics. But still going and doing it separately is better. Than speaking on something for like 30 minutes on some other topic during a Transformers podcast.
But still cool. I have never really read any Deadpool. I have the Deadpool game on PS3 and seen some cartoons and movies where he is in it. And he is a awesome character. The game and everything about is awesome. As for Ryan Reynolds playing him like Patrick Stewart playing Professor X in Xmen PERFECT CHOICE.
I look forward to many more of these in the future!!! Great work guys !!!!
Glad you’re enjoying the new show Dinobot. Thanks for the comments!
I think it’s a great idea. I guess most Transformers fans/collectors are into other “geeky” stuff as well. Personally, I’m also a big Marvel, DC and Stars Wars fan, so I think it’s cool to hear what other stuff you guys are into. But I am glad that you’re keeping it seperate from the regular TF stuff. Keep it up!
Marvel, DC and Starwars huh? I guess will have to push back my show idea of fountain pens and inks.
I would have preferred Transmissions: After Dark or even Transmissions with Blackjack and Hookers.
I too liked the Deadpool trailer. Favorite line was the reference to his new suit being green and animated.
If I may recommend some reading: Ed Brubaker’s CRIMINAL. It’s a noir crime book that comes out every so often. Well written. I would love to see a Nightbeat mini-series mystery written by him.
His other, non-mainstream stuff is equally as good:
INCOGNITO (witness relocation for super villains),
VELVET (imagine Ms. Moneypenny as basass as Bond himself),
FATALE (horror story spanning a century),
The FADE OUT (Hollywood crime during the 1930’s)
You keep making ’em, I’ll keep listening.
Who knows what adventures you’ll have between now and the time the show becomes unprofitable?
Hey, thanks for the suggestions Araish. We’ll check it out!
Thanks Araish! Plus one from me for the Simpsons reference. 🙂
To paraphrase a line from that same episode –
“What profitable spinoff show did the TransMissions Podcast team create in 2015?”
“If you said TransMissions Extra! – You are wrong! It was never profitable!”
I love that you guys are doing this! As we have talked about Marvel movies in the past, it is a great step for you guys. Though I must insist being on the show if you ever discuss Thanos, Adam Warlock or Death’s Head. 🙂 Of course you can just tell me to fuck off.
It will be my pleasure to invite you on to the show only to tell you to fuck off two minutes into recording. I look forward to that day new Jeremy. Erh, I mean Jimmerz.
Hey, guys. These bite-sized non-TF podcasts are a great idea. I still maintain my preference for longer runtimes, but will gladly accept the short n sweet format this maiden TME sports.
I have 2 comments:
1) My favorite part of the trailer is when he says “Fuck Liefield!”. Can’t wait to see what the context for that was.
2) Marvel made the Punisher movies. Pretty sure they’re all rated R.
The original Dolph Lundgren Punisher and Punisher War Zone were R rated, the 2003 Punisher was not.
And I’m wrong again, all 3 Punisher movies are R rates
Just a tidbit of trivia: Deadpool was created as a spoof of DC’s Deathstroke. Everything from his costume to his name Wade Wilson/ Slade Wilson
