  2. No, Yoshi returns this episode. He’s not mentioned directly in the show notes, but he’s definitely back. Enjoy!

  4. I agree with you guys that Hasbro seemed to blurr the line between the kiddie one step changers and “real” Transformers in the AOE line. Do you think maybe this was on purpose? That Hasbro didn’t want people turning down the simple toys as “kiddie”, so they all got mixed together.

I was wondering if you guys could comment on the lack of non-movie character toys in the AOE toy line. Back in the earlier Bay movie toy lines there were as many non-movie characters in the toy line as movie characters. We had dozens of supporting Autobots and Decepticons. Now for AOE we got so few characters… basically 3 or 4 Decepticons, and pretty much all the movie Autobots plus a few extra Dinobots – that’s it.

I’ll be all over those TFcon exclusive MasterShooter figures. I have every one they made so far. Yes, they replace Headmasters and Powermasters with Targetmaster versions of the character, but since I love Targetmasters that works for me. My Classic Optimus Prime carries a Targetmaster version of Hi-Q, and that’s a good thing.

Speaking of Mirage’s “super power” being invisibility, do you guys like the concept from back in 1984 where each Transformer seemed to have their own special power? They touched on that in Animated as well, and I think it’s one of the few good things about Animated.

Hasbro and the video game company seemed to put so much effort into Angry Birds Transformers. How come no one can put any time into the idea of a Classic Transformers action video game?

Some of us thought Beast Machines was a bad Transformers TV show, but at the time we didn’t have TFArmada, TFEnergon, TFAnimated and TFPrime to complain about. Now Beast Machines looks good.

  5. Another great episode!!!! It was awesome to have Yoshi and Jeremy back!!!! You never realize how much Yoshi and Jeremy brings to the show until they are gone.
I am so looking forward to the Combiner Wars comic series and the figures. Every time I see the Combiner Wars Optimus Prime I keep thinking of the G1 episode “Masquerade”. I just can’t wait to see how this series is be.
The Huffer and Thundercracker is a good example of something I am not liking about the current figures. The fact that the keep using the same mold over and over. I can understand the fact that the companies are saving money doing this and all, but still they really need to stop this at some point. Though I will admit some figures actually look better and some molds with different color schemes do make the mold look better.
I do look forward to getting my own MP Wheeljack and the new head sculpt. I think it looks awesome. But I have to admit I would love to see a company bring out a head sculpt where you can hit a switch and make the “Ears” light up to the point you can make him talk.
I do also like the look of the Unimetal Optimus. I would love to get him to add him to my Prime collection , but the price now is too high for my blood.
Also the DX9 doesn’t look bad at all to me. Though I think I will wait and see what Hasbro will do first before I try and get this guy for my MP collection.

  6. I also want to let you guys know if you didn’t know that the “Now I Know And Knowing Is Half The Battle!” that G.I.JOE did. Also was done by Transformers at least a few times to my knowledge. You can actually unlock a few on the Transformers Game (PS2) from 2004. Note that this is the Transformers (Armada) game and not the Transformers The Game for the 2007 movie. In the game you can play as Optimus Prime , Hot Shot , or Red Alert from Armada. You go through levels collecting Mini-cons and Data-cons. The Mini-cons being upgrades and extra weapons for the Bots and the Data-cons being things like Music, toy concepts, and game art work. You can also get 3 “Now I now ..And Knowing Is Half The Battle” TV spots. They feature Seaspray , Bumblebee , Powerglide, Red Alert , and Tracks. Bumblebee talks a kid out of not running away, Seaspray says about wearing a lifejacket when on a boat, Powerglide speaks about not jumping to conclusions about someone , Red Alert talks about wearing reflective clothing when riding a bicycle at night , and Tracks speaks about not stealing cars when some one tries to steal him.
But speaking on this have any of you guys played this game? I still have mine and still play it. At the time and even now it is still one of the best Transformers game in my book. I think it ranks right up there with War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron.

    • Yes, I do have that PS2 Transformers Armada game. I enjoyed it but I never finished it (got stuck on the Tidal Wave level). I saw the Transformers Public Service Announcements (PSAs) that were included as extras in that game, but to my knowledge they never actually aired on TV. I watched all the original G1 Transformers & G.I. Joe cartoons as a kid, and I only remember the PSAs being shown on G.I. Joe and not Transformers. And you don’t have to trust just my memory, the TFWiki backs me up: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/PSA#Transformers_public_service_announcements
Maybe I’ll dig that game up when I need something for a slow week on Trips to the Store. 🙂

  7. Great show guys. As always. I have to say this episode had everything; comic con news, third party toys, a classic comic book review, Canada, and me being mentioned in the feedback section.

And how cool is that Thundercracker? I want one right now! That Decepticton looks so sweet. Still no sign of Windblade or Jetfire at my local stores. Bummer.

  8. I have to do one more post. LOL! I meant to mention about where I heard the rumor of the Dinobots combining in the ’86 movie. I use to hang out a lot at a local comic book shop, which was across the street from where my mom worked so I got to go over there and hang out. Mostly was able to because they were friends of the family. They somehow (I don’t remember exactly how) would get a lot of info on movies that were coming out. And when the Transformers Movie was coming out they had heard this from somewhere. Being this was when I was around 8-9 years old. I am not sure how reliable the info was because I can barely remember the guys there. And I should note this was in Florida at the time.

  9. To correct you Charles, there’s is one more Generations seeker you left out, there was this interesting Remold of Generations Blitzwing and it was retool as some kind of triple changing Starscream. I do believe it was some kind of Japanese exclusive of some kind. This also came with a comic of some sort (memory is a tad bit on the fuzzy side and I do believe this is also came from a Japanese web comic too). It was also released alongside a 1st edition TF: Prime Voyager class Bulkhead that was remolded into a G1 Brawn. And also, the almighty Yoshi has returned!

    • Zach, that’s Cloud Starscream, a recolor of Generations Doubledealer, with new arm guns added. I like the idea, and would get it and some recolors as other Seekers, if they sold it in the USA. Sadly it’s a Japanese rare exclusive, and they want like $90+ for it! Make the three Seekers and sell them at Toys R Us for $25 each, and I’d get them. http://tfsource.com/tfcloud/starscream/
