TransMissions

TransMissions is a podcast network primarily about the Transformers franchise, but we also branch out into other related topics. On Wednesdays we have new episodes of TransMissions, all about the toy side of the Transformers franchise. On Fridays you can listen to new episodes of Alt Mode, with comic reviews and the latest news in Transformers comics and other media. TransMissions Extra! is a show we release whenever there’s a new one and covers non-Transformers topics. Finally, Declassified is a monthly show that’s exclusive to our Patreon supporters where we have guests on and go deep on a single topic.

Our network shows include Empire of Rust, the first and only Transformers live play RPG podcast; POV: Paladins of Voltron, a show that reviews each episode of the Netflix series Voltron Legendary Defender; and Yakko Yaks!, a general pop-culture show.

The Hosts


Charles Shelton (Big C)

Charles is a longtime fan of Transformers comics, from Marvel G1 (US and UK), through Dreamwave, and into IDW. Like many old school fans, he was hooked by the original G1 cartoon and toys. But after the cartoon ended and the G1 toyline fell out of favor, the stories in the comics sustained his love for the Transformers characters. Charles continues to enjoy most iterations and reinventions of Transformers in media (Beast Wars, Animated, Prime, etc.) as well, but maintains that the best Transformers stories can be found in their comics. Charles uses his compulsive attention to detail to ensure the podcast episodes and blog posts are high quality and go up on schedule every week.

Jeremy Dennis (Yakko)

Jeremy’s specialty is all around Transformers knowledge. He might not have the classic Marvel G1 background that Charles and Yoshi have, or the depth of toy knowledge that Darryl has, but he’s got a good background of most eras in the Transformers franchise. Jeremy’s history in the online Transformers fandom goes back to around 2000 when he first became aware of the various forums and sites. Around that time he founded IaconHub, which offered live chat for Transformers fans. Jeremy is also the technical expert for the podcast. If there’s something wrong with the site he’s the one that caused it or will fix it. When he’s not working or spending time with his family he’s putting out other podcasts including “POV: Paladins of Voltron” and “Yakko Yaks” or thinking of new podcasts.

Darryl Laughy (Cybertronian Beast)

Darryl has always been a collector of Transformers toys, but early on he had a problem opening them… whereas he didn’t. So back in May of 2012 Darryl started a YouTube Channel where he reviewed Transformers to make himself open his figures. The idea was to show the figures and the engineering that he found exciting. These reviews lasted just under 3 years or approximately 220 videos, so you can see why Darryl is the TransMissions toy guy. He still buys more toys than any other host and his current collection sits around 500ish figures, but the days of his video reviews may be long gone. Outside of the podcast Darryl enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, watching TV and movies, as well as collecting and reading comic books.
